Review: Dyland y Lenny - My World

Thursday, 11 March 2010 11:40

Take a step into the world of Dyland junto a Lenny! Here are reggaeton's newest stars backed up by no other than Luny himself. I was a bit hesitant towards this duo but after listening to their album, I deffinitely agree!  Dyland (the rapper) and Lenny (the singer) have a great chemistry and show that on every song. Lenny the singer has a great voice and Dyland provides those tough agressive lyrics. The beats on this album are awesome, we see a lot of techno influence but at the same time we hear some pounding dembow which is a must for any reggaeton fan. We see quite a bit of versatility on this album ranging from romantic songs like 'Nadie Te Amara Como Yo' and the newest single 'Quiere Pa Que te Quieran' aswell as some club songs for example 'Sexo En La Disco' and 'Caliente' featuring Arcangel 'La Maravilla', what surprised me was that they even included a street side! Which was the intro to the album which sounded really good. Overall i'd give this album a 8.5/10 which is deffinitely worth your money, below I have included the album preview.

Review: Cosculluela - El Principe

Thursday, 11 March 2010 11:40

The lyrical heavyweight also known as Cosculluela releases his album today. He has been shattering expectations, I mean they were high but I did not expect him to already reach number two on the iTunes charts! Fellow reggaetoneros Wisin y Yandel and their album 'La Evolucion' was at a staggering #13, the number one spot belonging to Thalia. This album is amazing! Cosculluela gave us all that we were expecting, and MORE. Malianteo, Romantiqueo, Perreo, Discotequeo, the man did it all. This album had the right amount of collabos, with the participation of De La Ghetto, O'neill, Jowell y Randy, Ivy Queen, and Zion y Lennox. He shows his soft side on songs like 'Pienso En Ti', 'En Ocasiones' but also sticks to his malianteo roots with 'Sube y Baja' and Plaka Plaka'. The song that surprised me most was 'Yo No Se Bailar' a electro style song made for the clubs. It's hot! Deffinitely got me moving, i'm sure if he makes that a single the charts will eat it up. Overall this album is a must buy for any fan of good music, El Princi doesn't disappoint with this album, CD of the year if you ask me.

Review: Tony Dize - La Melodia De La Calle Updated

Thursday, 11 March 2010 11:40

Time for a new review my Real Talkers! Last year Tony Dize released his debut album 'La Melodia De La Calle' under the label WY Records later on they decided to give him the boot and he made the move to Pina Records, the home of artists like RKM y Ken-Y and Nicky Jam. Would Tony be able to prove his ex bosses wrong? With this Special Edition we were able to see a different Tony Dize, one that was UPDATED. It featured the hits that the first album had, and with the help of Mambo Kingz they were made perfect, small touches on the beats can make a big difference. Also it features collaborations with Arcangel, Ken-Y, Cosculluela, Wisin y Yandel, Plan B, Don Omar and Cruzito. When it came to producers, Tony went to Mambo Kingz, Haze and Myztiko. This has to be the best special edition I have heard. Why is that you might ask? It's the only Special Edition that makes me feel like i'm listening to a new album. Most of the time it seems like artists are trying to make some quick money by adding two or three new songs and push it to the market. You can see that Tony and Pina put a lot of time and effort into it. The lyrics are on point, you can thank Wise for that. Tony goes outside of his comfort zone doing songs from different genres including Bachata, Mambo and Vallenato but also keeps his reggaeton roots. Purchase this album if you are a fan of good music, you will not be disappointed. Tony Dize!

Review: Magnate y Valentino - Quimica Perfecta

Thursday, 11 March 2010 11:40

I know, I know it's been a while since I have done a review but guess what ..it ain't my fault! Lol, this year was looking so promising in the begining the release of albums like 'El Patron' and 'Down To Earth' and the flood of new tracks then BOOM it died down. This album was anounced since last year and has been getting pushed back since then. Enough of that let's get to the album. Let me start of by saying WTF 10 songs? First 'iDON' now this? Is this honestly the new trend? I hope not it takes them years to make an album and they can't even give us a decent ammount? 15-18 would be good if you asked me. Also no collabs? I understand that you are 'coming back' but come on at least one collaboration. This album has some reggaeton songs but also some very poppish and some tropical songs that I am not a fan of. The songs that I recomend from this album would be 'Oh, Oh',  'Nobody', and 'El Castigo' (this might be the oldest song on the album, and sadly the hottest song). So what is my final conclusion on this album? Good but not great. I wouldn't spend my money on a 10 track album, especially with no collaborations. The production wasn't all that great either. The hot songs on this album were hot and the ones that sucked really sucked, I can't even listen to them. This seems more like a mixtape than a album if you ask me. But hey, I suggest you give it a chance and a listen and if you like it purchase it and support M y V!

Below is the album preview.

Review: Trebol Clan - Fantasia Musical

Thursday, 11 March 2010 11:40

Even though Trebol Clan's new album "Fantasia Musical" technically leaked a couple weeks ago, the album officially dropped today, so here's the review. A lot of people have had very different opinions on this album, some people like it while others really hate it. I personally feel that the album is definitely solid but at the same time it does not come even close to what Trebol Clan is truly capable of doing. The problem with this album is that they tried to go a little too commerical with it and unfortunately for them, that really doesn't suit their style really well. Although they did have some real good reggaeton tracks on this album like "Digale," "Fuga," and "Gata Sata," they failed miserably with tracks like "Otro Beso" and "Por Ti." Maybe Tito El Bambino and RKM y Ken-Y can go the pop route but these dudes should just stick to what their good at and thats perreo with a lil bit of romantiqueo like they did in their cyber album "The Comeback." All in all, the album is straight. A lot of the songs are catchy and the majority of the beats are pretty good. It might not be their best album and it might not be a classic like "Los Bacatranes," but for what its worth and for what they tried to do with it, the album is acceptable, and Trebol Clan should deserve some credit for at least trying to go in a new direction. So try and support these guys and go buy it. Here are some of the best tracks:

Llegas

Me Hipnotizas

Nena

Review: Wisin & Yandel - La Revolucion

Thursday, 11 March 2010 11:40

La Revolucion!!!!! Ok, where to begin? Straight up, this album is crazy good to me! From the first song to the last song I think I only rated like 3 or 4 songs not above average and 1 or 2 of them already had months of being out there. From the moment "Mujeres In The Club" came out featuring hip hop all star, 50 Cent, which was a Revolution in itself by breaking all kinds of barriers, I knew this album would be something. Then "Abusadora" came out... Oh man, that song is crazy! Those three Latin Pop songs, were also unbelievable, two which featured famous Pop icons in their respected genre. And I've said this many times, Luny Tunes + Wisin & Yandel = FIRE!!! (Look back at Rakata). I could sit here and name many more songs and the crazy good job that Wisin & Yandel did. Now to the negatives, Wisin & Yandel... TAKE A BREAK!!! You just released La Mente Maestra in November. And what happened with all the collaborations for the album that you said!! Akon? Sean Paul? Aventura? Lol, ok, most of those questions already have answers, but Sean Paul and Akon would've made this album even greater! I have to admit though, NO ONE is as consistent as these two, repetitive or not. You're not going to tell me that when a hot song like "Quitame El Dolor" or "Besos Mojados" comes out you don't put that in your iPod and go blast that in your car with your windows down (well those with cars lol). Already this album is number one and number two on Itunes (Deluxe and Regular Versions) and is well on its way to selling 55,000+ in its first week (How many Los Extraterestres sold in its first week) in my opinion. Hate it or love it, La Revolucion is Wisin & Yandel's BEST CD!! Go out and buy this, you won't be disappointed!

Review: Don Omar - iDon

Thursday, 11 March 2010 11:40

Alright so as most of you know I am a big fan of Don Omar and have been since I first started listening to the genre. Last year when I heard that he was making his comeback and a new album I was at the edge of my seat. After many changes in the release date for the album, it was finally released this month. If I could describe my thoughts of this album in one word it would be disappointing. A few days ago they put this album on his MySpace for a listening party, just like Alexis y Fido did while promoting their album 'Down To Earth'. Shortly after listening to this album I quickly canceled my preorder on iTunes. The purpose of this website is and has always been to help the artists and grow but if I purchase something that I do not believe is going to take the genre in the right direction then that would make the artist think that what they are doing is right. If you ask me the three songs that Wisin y Yandel have released for their album 'La Revolucion' have been better than this whole album. Don't get me wrong I like it when artists experiment with their music, it makes it more interesting. I find it ok for artists to mess with futuristic sounds but '10,000 years ahead of us' is way too much. I was iffy on this album as soon as I saw the track list. 10 songs? Didn't 'King of Kings' his last album have about 20 songs? Another thing is that the song titles seem like they came out of an episode of Star Trek. Also there were no collabos what so ever. The public found out that Don Omar and Daddy Yankee had squashed their beef late last year and a collaboration with these two would have been perfect. Finally the songs 'Virtual Diva' and 'Blue Zone' are included in the album. Those songs were released in October and are already outplayed for most people. Don is said to release another album this year so let's hope that this is his warm up. This album reminds me of Daddy Yankee's 'Cartel 3: The Big Boss'. Many had high expectations and ended up being disappointed. The difference here is that Cartel had about twice the number of songs this album has and featurings from artists in reggaeton and hip hop. I was not a fan of Cartel but compared to this album it seems like a work of art. Now remember people this review is my opinion, you might not think the same way as I do so I recomend that you preview the songs first before you make a decision on purchasing it or not. The album releases next Tuesday.

Review: Franco El Gorila - Welcome To The Jungle

Thursday, 11 March 2010 11:40

franco

La makina de WY Records is releasing his first album tomorrow and let me tell you this, I am quite surprised. Not being a big fan of Franco ‘El Gorila’ my expectations were low. But this album is great; the tracks have some dope beats behind them, provided by producers like Nesty, Victor ‘El Nasi’, Tainy and Los Jedais. Also Franco has a way of making anyone who’s listening to his music just want to get up! Collaborations include Wisin y Yandel, Jayko, El Tico, Tony Dize, Yaviah and Cosculluela. Very well rounded album if you ask me. Some of my favorite songs off the album were ‘Millonario’, ‘He Querido Quererte’ and ‘Torturame’. Don’t think that this album is going to feature nothing but Perreo and Malianteo. Franco shows his soft side in some songs as well! It definitely has changed my view on Franco ‘El Gorila’ glad to see that they finally let the Gorila loose! Make sure to pick up this album it is worth your money and deserves a spot on any reggaeton fans collection. Here are some songs for you to get a taste of the album.

Review: Alexis y Fido - Down To Earth

Thursday, 11 March 2010 11:40

Alright time for another review. Shortly after releasing their album 'Sobrenatural' in 2007 'Los Pitbulls' better known as Alexis y Fido, stated that they were going back to their reggaeton roots on their next album. The first promotional song released was 'Subete' which even though was catchy and futuristic, was not what most fans expected. Soon after they released 'Ojos Que No Ven' which was another catchy song with a techno-like beat. At first my expectations went from very high to not so high. Yesterday the duo decided to premiere their album via the social network MySpace, this method of leaking albums is very common among American artists and is a great idea if you ask me. It gave the fans a chance to listen to the album before it hit shelves on one of the most popular websites on the internet. I listened to the album and I really enjoyed it. Most of the songs have dembow and had some crazy production by producers like Yai y Toly, Nely 'El Arma Secreta', Tainy, Diesel and Master Chris. They kept their word of staying to their reggaeton roots while still keeping up with the new trends in the genre, it fits perfectly with their album title 'Down to Earth'. The song 'No La Debes Tocar' featuring Toby Love has a great message behind it, on the topic of domestic violence. It also features some street songs, some love songs and some club bangers. The album releases March 31st!

Review: LDA - Revolucionando El Genero

Thursday, 11 March 2010 11:40

Ok people so I know this album released last Tuesday but I didn't have the chance to listen to it until yesterday so here is my review. Ever since I heard the first Chosen Few album I remember listening to the songs LDA had on there and wanting more. This was the first, and only time I had heard a reggaeton duo that consisted of a male and female artist. This makes for a great chemistry that only a man and a women can do musically. So this year the duo finally dropped their album 'Revolucionando El Genero'. Let me tell you guys this album has it all, tropical music, hip hop, reggaeton and even some rock! Orquidella Negra and Baby Psycho did a great job on this album. This duo is very versatile and prove it with this album. When most albums feature 12-14 songs this one has 19 now that is what I call an album. I have a really good feeling about reggaeton this year if this keeps up! 'Revolucionando El Genero' released last Tuesday and is available via Amazon, iTunes and stores near you so make sure to support this duo and pick it up aight!

Review: Tito 'El Bambino' - El Patron

Thursday, 11 March 2010 11:40

Well here is the Album Review for Tito El Bambino's newest album 'El Patron', Can't believe it came out earlier than it was supposed to but I must say this album is straight fire and its the 1st official Reggaeton album of 2009, with the lack of new album releases this past couple of months this will sure be a must buy album, Great album in my opinion but unfortunally this album will never be as good as 'Top Of The Line' that for me its the best Tito 'El Bambino' album released but yet its slightly better than 'It's My Time' from 2007, The featurings from Zion & Lennox and Plan B were pretty good and didn't disappoint specially the Plan B song that I believe was the best song of the album, great song produced by Haze (Plan B's producer), I was surprised with Tito's new style as he is no longer doing that 'innocent' style that he had for years and is now doing perreos and stuff, This album had some great songs it had alot of Reggaeton with dembow as promised it had a great bachata, a merengue song that sounded almost identical to 'En La Disco' but it was alright and it had some nice romantic songs and the song 'Somos Iguales' had a great message with I really liked, Songs like Mata and Baila Sexy weren't all that great as they felt that they were just fill ins for the album but were passable, Overall this album was great and as the 1st album of 2009 you can tell that Reggaeton is coming strong this year and I like how this year is looking when it comes to the upcoming albums and songs, it looks as if Reggaeton artists were sleeping and they finally waked up and are now ready to take over, This might be the year of Reggaeton and might be as good if not better than 2004 but thats only possible only if all the albums that have been announced all are released when they're supposed to without any push backs but only time will tell!

Review: Flex - La Evolucion Romantic Style

Thursday, 11 March 2010 11:40

Okay so heres the cd review for Flex's new album: La Evolucion Romantic Style. Now I know a lot of you reggaeton fans, including myself, hated Flex when he came out with his song "Te Quiero." His first album was real whack it only had two tracks with dembow and everything was reggae. Now I guess he understands that what makes him popular is reggaeton, so this album is filled with way more reggaeton than the first album. When compared to his first album, this album is acutally pretty decent considering hes Flex lol. I am not going to lie, I mean although the cd isnt the greatest and probably doesnt satisfy real reggaeton fans, it actually has some good tracks on it. I never liked Flex personally, but all reggaeton fans have to admit that if it wasnt for Flex, reggaeton wouldnt even have been noticed last year, he kept reggaeton on top of the charts, and even a Flex hater like me, respects him for that. So give this dude a chance and at least have a listen, he really is not that bad. Here are the seven selected tracks from the album so you can preview them:

Review : Cheka - Yo Soy Musica

Thursday, 11 March 2010 11:40

So this cd was pretty much unexpected. Cheka released a few songs earlier this year and the album was said to release in April of this year but it didn't happen. So he stayed quiet for a few months then dropped the banger 'Flow' featuring 'El Duo Del Sex', Plan B. He announced that his album would be releasing in December but like most people I didn't believe it since I didn't see any promotion for it nor did I see a cover for it. Well, here it is! I'm not gonna lie I was expecting more from this album. In my opinion it could have used some more collabos with hot names, some more creative lyrics and some different producers also. The album has a lot of influence from produced Fade 'El Que Pone La Presion' and Cheka produces a few tracks aswell as his brother Juno. Some songs are pretty hot but some didn't really make the cut in my opinion. Don't get me wrong the cd isn't bad just could have been better. Good album to let people know he's coming back but not really a comeback album. Check it out and i'm not sure if this is hitting shelves anytime soon cause I haven't recieved the cover yet. Here are some handpicked songs for you to get a feel as always.

4. Flow (Ft. Plan B)(Prod by Fade)
7. Hay Party Hoy (Prod by Fade)
9. Besandote (Prod by Fade)
15. Move Your Body (Juno) (Prod by Fade) (Bonus Track)

Review: Marcy Place - B From Marcy Place

Thursday, 11 March 2010 11:40

Here is another cd review that has been anticipated by many music lovers. This is Don Omar's answer to urban bachata, i'm talking about the new group that consists of the members Billy, Joey, JC or you might know them as Marcy Place. Here is their first album and it's really good. It has some old songs that were releasing months ago and also some new ones. Good for the fans who have not heard much from them before. This group is very talented and with the support of artists like Wisin y Yandel, Divino and Don Omar, they are sure to make it big. The album released today! So make sure to pick it up and support these talented guys. Here are some tracks for you to listen to.

Review: Arcangel - El Fenomeno

Thursday, 11 March 2010 11:40

I don't know how to begin this review. This album completely lived up to my expectation. Despite people criticizing our bias reviews, this album is good and I'm not afraid to say it. And you can't deny it! After a failed attempt to an earlier album release, Arcangel is here with his FIRST studio production. That's hard to believe considering that he's been in this game for a few years now. But that's how this genre is nowadays. From the Intro to the end this album is great!! He personally hand picked his favorite songs from "La Maravilla", the internet released album that came out earlier this year and reused them in this album. "Por Amar A Ciegas",the first single, has already become the song for many people and the video was just recently released. Arcangel will only get better from here on... So remember to absolutely go buy this album. Last time Arcangel tried to release an album he cancelled it because it was quickly pirated. Millions of downloads!! You know why? Because its La Maravilla, this dude has pure talent and people like his stuff even if they diss it. La Envidia...Album is releasing this coming Tuesday, December 9th!!

Review: Yomo - My Destiny

Thursday, 11 March 2010 11:40

Yomo's album, he has waited years to finally release his first album... This leaked early in the morning and we posting the review now, which to many of you is kind of late, Lol. Yomo does his best to keep the old style of Reggaeton alive while also using the new style. This album also includes some Spanish Hip Hop. Personally, not a big fan of Yomo, but if you like him at all, check out the album. I don't see this album coming close to Album of The Year. Although, this album does include one of the hottest songs of the year, Tu Te La Trae (Remix)!! So check it out, and remember to go buy this album. Yomo needs support because for releasing this album, he's going to be sued by his label for releasing an album that he's not supposed to release! Check out the track, My Destiny and hear HIS story.
Sorry for the delay and remember to stay tuned to your favorite website, Real Talk Reggaeton!!! We ain't slipping, we just carefully working on some BIG things ;)
